Position Summary:
As an IT Systems and Network Administrator on our team, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in a successful Engineering firm. You will be designing, implementing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure. In the process you will interact with practically everyone in the company and work closely with individuals who have significant technical knowledge and experience. This will allow you to learn numerous technologies and advance your skills while forming great professional and personal relationships. Key Responsibilities:
  • Scope, design, configure and implement changes to networks, servers and systems to ensure the IT needs of the business are properly covered.
  • Plan and implement network security, manage and regulate permissions.
  • Setup, configure, review VLANs.
  • Review, set up, configure, deploy, manage, monitor and maintain the following infrastructure:
    • Firewalls, VPNs, switches, SAN, servers and all network peripherals.
    • Maintain password management software, encryption keys and ensure that all assets conform to policy.
    • Maintain existing backup strategies as well research new ones to ensure business continuity.
    • Endpoint protection.
    • IP phone system.
    • Internet service.
    • Email service.
  • Develop and maintain IT installation, operational, and configuration procedures and documentation. Maintain and enhance the existing IT documentation.
  • Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources and systems.
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled maintenance.
  • Create and execute routine performance maintenance for hardware.
  • Assist the company personnel with installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of the IT systems hardware and software.
  • Review and document IT issues to understand root causes and work to implement resolutions.
  • Create, update and close IT support tickets.
  • Support the business cybersecurity requirements.
  • Specify, procure and set up IT hardware for new employees and support the onboarding process.
  • Other tasks, projects, duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in server and network administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Solution oriented and collaborate well with co-workers.
  • Experience with email administration and troubleshooting (knowledge of Google Workspace Administration).
  • Good knowledge and practical experience with LAN/WAN/VoIP/firewall technologies.
  • Experience with tools to monitor, operate, manage, troubleshoot and maintain the services related to the IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with specifying, procuring, deploying and maintaining servers (Proxmox, ESXi, HyperV, virtualbox, QEMU, any hypervisor knowledge is a plus).
  • Experience with managing network infrastructure (managed switches, routers, firewalls, NAS, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with Windows and Linux OS.
  • Experience with troubleshooting networks (using tools like testers and network equipment).
  • Experience documenting the IT resources.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity (familiarity with NIST or CMMC is a plus).
  • As we are a government subcontractor, we require that all applicants be US citizens.


Pay Scale and Benefits: $70,000 – $95,000 per year.
