Prepare for Installation
Network and Switch Requirements
ANetD devices are PoE / PoE+ plug-and-play. A properly configured network infrastructure will ensure a seamless installation. Listed below are the recommended network and PoE switch requirements:
- TCP/IP Switches
- Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) Switch Ports
- DHCP Server
- Multi-cast enabled
- Minimum CAT5 cable with maximum of 300 feet from the device to switch
Equipment Compatibility
Below are products that have been shown to work with our devices.
Note: Advanced Network Devices does not represent, endorse or guarantee any of the following.
Switches / Midspan / Repeaters
Although most of our devices will operate with PoE power, PoE+ is recommended for some of the larger devices and LCD devices for maximum performance.
PoE ports must carry 15.4 W (IEEE 802.3af). Lower port numbers generally work better in some brands, especially if higher port numbers lose some power when lower ports power other PoE devices. Choose a reputable switch and understand its power delivery capabilities. Brands that have worked fairly consistently include:
- D-Link
- Adtran Netvanta
- Cisco
- HP
- Juniper
- PowerDsine
- Dell
Power Injectors
- PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at)
- Phihong
- PoE (IEEE 802.3af)
- Phihong
- ZyXEL POE12
- MiLAN MIL-L100i
External Microphones
- Voice Amplification: Lightspeed’s 975 and Flexmike pendant microphone
- Paging Station: Astatic AST878DM Desk Microphone with PushTo-Talk Button
External Relay
- To control higher voltage and / or higher current circuits (such as 120VAC strobes) connected to our Peripheral Interface Adapter (AND-PIA-2): External 12VDC-Controlled Relay (TE Connectivity Model T9AP1D52-12)
